while living in new york, i had the absolute pleasure of starting up and running two separate book clubs. each club had five to six members, excluding me, and read a book every month or two, dependent on schedules. the first book club formed was such a hit, in the last year, i opened a second book club to keep the conversations intimate within the club. book club one has read 18 books in the last four years and book club two has read 7 books in the last year.
my role in the book club entailed leading discussions and making power points for the club, as well as helping pick the next book. this typically entailed general discussion questions to warm the group up, a slide about the author, additional context to the book, and then final discussion questions that are more specific to the book.
